In February 2025, the Sixth African Region Initiatives (SARI) proudly participated in the Diaspora Africa Conference in Houston, Texas, bringing the conversation on African diaspora youth leadership, entrepreneurship, tourism, and sustainable development to an international audience.

The conference served as a dynamic platform for African diaspora leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors, academics, and development practitioners committed to strengthening economic and cultural connections between Africa and its global diaspora.

Through meaningful dialogue and collaboration, participants explored innovative approaches to investment, trade, education, technology, and community development.

Representing SARI, Founder and Executive Director Zainab A. Muntari joined distinguished speakers and delegates in discussions focused on the power of youth entrepreneurship as a catalyst for inclusive economic growth across the African continent.

During the session, emphasis was placed on the importance of Africa Diaspora investments, expanding access to business development opportunities, and creating stronger partnerships between Africa and its diaspora communities. The discussion highlighted how diaspora-led enterprises and SMEs are driving innovation, generating employment, and contributing to resilient local economies.

The conference also reinforced the critical role of the African diaspora as strategic partners in Africa's transformation. Beyond remittances, diaspora professionals and investors bring valuable expertise, networks, mentorship, and market access that can accelerate the growth of emerging businesses and social enterprises across the continent.

For SARI, participating in the Diaspora Africa Conference aligned perfectly with our mission of building bridges between Africa and its global communities.

By fostering collaboration among entrepreneurs, development organizations, and private sector leaders, we continue to create opportunities that empower women and young people to lead sustainable businesses and contribute to long-term economic prosperity.

The event provided an opportunity to establish new partnerships, exchange ideas with innovators from diverse sectors, and showcase SARI's commitment to advancing youth capacity building, entrepreneurship development, tourism innovation, and regional collaboration throughout Africa.
