SARI Diaspora Network (SDN)

The SARI Diaspora Network (SDN) is a strategic pillar of the Sixth African Region Initiatives (SARI), designed to mobilize, organize, and leverage the African diaspora as a unified, impact-driven force for the socio-economic transformation of Africa through tourism, heritage reclamation, investment, and community empowerment.

As one of SARI’s core products, the SARI Diaspora Network serves both as a bridge and amplifier, creating sustained engagement between Africans on the continent and their global diaspora across North America, the Caribbean, Europe, Latin America, and beyond.

Vision of the SARI Diaspora Network

To create an active, engaged, and empowered global African diaspora ecosystem that fosters sustainable investment, celebrates cultural identity, and contributes to the advancement of Africa’s tourism and development potential.

Why the SARI Diaspora Network Exists

Africa's diaspora holds immense potential economically, intellectually, and culturally. However, fragmentation, lack of streamlined access, and limited integration channels have restricted diaspora involvement in structured African development.

SARI Diaspora Network addresses this by:

  • Creating organized engagement mechanisms for diaspora participation in African tourism, heritage, and entrepreneurship.

  • Facilitating integration pathways for returnees, repats, and diaspora investors.

  • Providing tools, knowledge, and networks that enable diaspora members to contribute to Africa’s tourism and socio-economic ecosystems in meaningful and measurable ways.

Key Functions of the SARI Diaspora Network

  • Diaspora Integration & Relocation Advisory: Offering bespoke consulting and support services to diaspora members seeking to relocate, invest, or reconnect with Ghana and Africa at large.

  • Diaspora Investment Matching: Facilitating targeted investment opportunities in tourism-adjacent industries such as agritourism, hospitality, creative arts, wellness, and sustainable products.

  • Diaspora Representation & Thought Leadership: Featuring diaspora voices in SARI-led conferences such as the Africa Tourism Renaissance Conference (ATRC), masterclasses, and impact forums.

  • Diaspora-Led Initiatives: Encouraging and supporting community-based projects initiated by diaspora members in rural and peri-urban communities. Diaspora Tourism Curation: Offering unique diaspora-centered tours that go beyond leisure to include identity reclamation, heritage exploration, and community immersion.
